              Sarah Ellen Townsley Moore was born
June 5, 1879 to James  & Loutisha RUSSELL Townsley at Tazewell,  Tennessee, in the County of
Claiborne.  She was married July 21 1894 to John
Marion Moore  of Tazewell,
Tn\, to which union ten children girls, seven
of whom survive.
              Some months ago she made peace with
God and began preparations
    Her passing was at her home,  near
Cumberland Gap, Tennessee,
         but on the Kentucky side, at 6:25  Nov. 25,
1939.
              She leaves behind; her husban  John M.
(Dob) Moore,
         children as follows:

Rev. Joe Lambert.

Cemetery.  Cawood
         Funeral Home in charge.

Sidney D. Moore, 74 

Sidney D. Moore, 74, of Lafayette, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Regency Place. He had been in failing health for the last month.

Born Oct. 23, 1931, to the late Clifford and Laura Whitaker Moore in Tazewell, Tenn., he had resided in Lafayette most of his life.

He was a veteran, serving in the Army.

His marriage was to Alice L. Pressey on Nov. 6, 1950, in Dayton, and she survives.

Mr. Moore worked at Schwab Safe for 21 years, retiring in 1995 as maintenance supervisor. He had formerly worked for National Homes.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, drawing and painting.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Gary L. Moore (wife: Jill) of Attica and Jeffrey A. Moore of Lafayette; a daughter, Jo Ann Moore of West Lafayette; three brothers, Roy Moore (wife: Julie) and Wayne Moore (wife: Gloria), all of Gastonia, N.C., and Clifford Moore of Lafayette; and three sisters, Vivian Garote (husband: Sebastian) of Chino Valley, Ariz., Delores Schnaar (husband: Richard) of Lafayette and Mary Ann King (husband: Carl) of West Lafayette.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. today at Soller-Baker Dayton Chapel, 730 Walnut St., Dayton, with service there 10 a.m. Thursday, Pastor James Chase officiating. Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, WL. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Preceded in death by a son, Thomas Moore; and a brother, David Moore. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.

SHELBY JOE NEWBY

 
Shelby Joe Newby, age 84, of Tazewell, was born February 25, 1922 and passed away August 17, 2006 at his home.

He was a deacon of Riley Memorial Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the North African and European Theaters, where he was awarded 4 Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was preceded in death by daughter: Evelyn Newby; parents: Joe and Mollie Townsley Newby; sisters: Gracie Duncan, Lula Harville, and Minervia Newby; brother: Vernon Newby.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Joanne Fultz Newby; son: Jay Newby both of Tazewell; granddaughters and husbands: Tammy and Adrian Daniels of Harrogate, Leaann and Jody Lambert; grandson and wife: Doug and Debbie Newby all of Tazewell; great grandchildren: Katelyn and Savanah Newby, Mikayla, Braxton and Peyton Daniels; step great grandchild: Casey Keck; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, August 19 at 2 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Fletcher and Rev. Tim Drummonds officiating. Songs by Mary Drummonds. Burial in the Irish Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Pallbearers: Zane Mills, Wayne Mills, Jason Fultz, Rodney Fultz, Tim Drummonds, Donald Wayne Harville.

Coffey Funeral Home in charge.
